CORAL GABLES, Fla., Dec., 5, 2023 — Acorn Health announces its participation as a foundational member of the first-ever national autism data registry, a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence sponsored program that will help gauge the quality and effectiveness of applied behavioral analysis provided to people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
“Quality has been a guiding force at Acorn Health since the very beginning,” says Krista Boe, BCBA, chief clinical and compliance officer. “The formation of this registry, helps the ABA industry advance quality by giving providers an accessible platform to create and share benchmarks that will be used to measure and evaluate progress.”
Acorn Health is partnering with other therapy providers including Hopebridge, JumpStart Autism Center, Proud Moments, Ascend Behavior Partners and the Center for Social Dynamics to create the national data registry, which is maintained by the BHCOE.
“The registry provides a method to better understand industry improvement and to detect meaningful change achieved through ABA therapy,” Boe adds. “For the family members who are caring for and living with people with ASD, having a resource to measure and see change over time is an invaluable resource in continuing to help their loved ones develop their unique strengths.”
Boe says participation in the registry is another example of Acorn Health’s commitment to improving the industry as a whole. Acorn Health has long focused on outcomes and outcomes measurement starting with the inception of the Behavioral Health Index, a propriety tool developed by the organization in partnership with FTF consulting, which is shared freely within the industry.
