CORAL GABLES, Fla., Sept. 10, 2024 — Acorn Health, a national and accredited provider of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy, is expanding into Ypsilanti this fall to increase access to critical services for children with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. Families in Ypsilanti who have children in need of ABA may begin in-home services now and transition to in-center services when the new location opens later this year.
“ABA therapy with Acorn Health is a truly unique experience for every child, because every child’s plan is individually designed to meet their personal goals,” said Emily Besecker, M.S., BCBA, MI-LBA, Acorn Health’s regional director of operations in Michigan. “An important part of our clients’ individualized plans is the location therapy is provided. In-home services can be a wonderful option for some children, but in-home is not always the most appropriate environment nor is it always feasible for busy families, and that’s why I’m thrilled Acorn Health’s newest center is opening in Ypsilanti this year. The new center will help more families access high-quality ABA services for their children in an environment that is the most beneficial in accomplishing their goals — whether that’s in-center or in-home.”
The new center, conveniently located at 5300 W. Michigan Ave., offers children with autism a center designed with them in mind. All of Acorn Health’s centers offer designated spaces for treatment, group activities and play.
“For families seeking in-center ABA services for their children – due to the demand for ABA therapy services, individual assessments, and clinical capacity – we recommend enrolling soon so your child is able to start services immediately after the center’s opening,” Besecker added. “Experience our quick and easy intake process and see the difference our personalized treatment plans can make.”
The Ypsilanti center is actively recruiting clinical staff and enrolling new families. To view open roles and to apply, visit acornealth.com/careers.
