CORAL GABLES, Fla., Sept. 30, 2024 — Acorn Health’s clinical training and development team was named an Operational Team of Excellence by Central Reach during its annual conference held Sept. 16-18, in Los Angeles. The team was nominated for the 2024 Autism and IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disability) Care Awards in recognition of their work around clinician training.
The Acorn Health clinical training and development team created and implemented an organization-wide Apprenticeship Program to support and shepherd staff interested in becoming a BCBA through that process. The Apprentice Program offers supervised fieldwork opportunities, alongside a structured curriculum and mentorship program, to equip BCBA pursuants with hands-on clinical experience and knowledge to help them pass their certification exam and directly and positively impact the quality of clinical care. The team also launched a proprietary Clinical Readiness Program of direct, dedicated behavior technician training to support clinician development into registered behavior technicians within 60 days of hire. The CRP emphasizes practical experience, mentorship from seasoned clinicians, competency assessments, and additional required hours of hands on-training far and above industry norms.
”I’m incredibly proud of the work our clinical training and development team is doing to ensure the quality of services we provide at Acorn Health are of the highest caliber,” said Krista Boe, chief clinical officer. “Congratulations to the team on this well-deserved industry recognition of your hard work and dedication to ensuring the children we have the privilege of serving receive the best possible quality ABA care.”
The Central Reach 2024 Autism and IDD Care Awards recognize organizations for innovation and leadership, and for advancing autism and intellectual and developmental disability care.
