Job Summary: 

The Director of People & Culture will build the team of experts responsible for strategic HR business partnership for the organization. You will act as a trusted HR advisor, coach, and partner to our senior leaders as we increase our access to Autism care. You will lead a team of experienced people partners (HR business partners) to deliver outstanding people partnership to all of our employees. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with Regional Director and Clinical Director level leaders on organizational design, culture, workforce planning, talent and performance management, business planning and employee relations. 
  • Create and deliver strategies aligned with Acorn’s vision, mission and values, that enable the increased access to care at a Center level. 
  • Utilize data and analytics to generate talent insights, stabilize retention, and increase employee engagement within Acorn's centers.  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

  • Exceptional talent assessment and development skills, including experience coaching and influencing senior leaders across multiple lines of business to assess talent and build their own high performing teams 
  • Track record of navigating and successfully resolving complex and diverse employee relations issues both directly and through the coaching of others (e.g., handling investigations, performance management, terminations, accommodations, and employment-related disputes) 
  • Exceptional oral and written communication with demonstrated ability communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels 
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to use data and trends to understand and anticipate future needs of the organization and make data-driven decisions  
  • Expertise designing employee relations strategies that uphold a culture of equity and inclusion while mitigating organizational risks  
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; master’s degree and/or certifications in coaching or team development preferred 
  • Ten or more years of relevant HR experience, including supporting a distributed (multistate) workforce 
  • Five or more years of experience building, developing, and retaining high performing teams in HR 
  • Experience leveraging change management skills to effectively lead teams or organizations through high-growth, challenge, and change  
  • Experience leading HRBPs who are supporting a dispersed workforce 
  • Experience designing strategies that build strong culture and connection in a dispersed  workforce  
  • Track record of developing and deploying people-focused strategies to meet short and long-term organizational goals in areas of talent development, organizational design, workforce planning, leadership coaching and development, total rewards, DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging), employee relations, and/or talent acquisition 
  • Experience working across lines of difference and strong personal commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion  
  • History of leveraging strong working alliances cross functionally, including successfully leading cross-functional projects and gaining buy-in across stakeholders with opposing views
