Building supportive, inclusive communities begins with providing families access to the resources they need. As awareness and understanding of autism spectrum disorder continues to grow, so does the importance of making high-quality applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy readily available to families everywhere.
Meeting the Growing Need for ABA Therapy
Recent statistics show that 1 in 36 children are diagnosed with autism, up from 1 in 44 in 2018. This rise reflects greater awareness and improved diagnostic tools, underscoring the need for accessible, evidence-based resources. For many families, ABA therapy remains a trusted and effective option for children with an autism diagnosis. At Acorn Health, we are pleased to meet this need by expanding access to quality autism therapy services to even more communities in Michigan.
Acorn Health has already opened one new center in Madison Heights in 2024, and is poised to open two more locations: St. Clair Shores scheduled to open in January 2025 and Ypsilanti scheduled to be open by the end of the first quarter of 2025.The addition of these three new centers brings the total number of locations served by Acorn Health in Michigan to 21.

To celebrate its opening, Acorn Health leaders hosted a grand opening and open house event on September 19, in collaboration with the local Hazel Park Chamber of Commerce. Community members were invited to tour the facility, meet our team, and learn about the services we provide.
“I’m really excited to be part of Acorn Health’s efforts to expand access to care with the opening of our newest location,” said Lauren Miller, M.A., BCBA, LBA, clinical director of Acorn Health at Madison Heights. “Detroit, like many other large cities, is home to many children whose families are looking for ABA services that are both high quality and conveniently located.
